Navigating through loss offers a path to true happiness in this sweetly emotional romance. When 30-year-old Bea loses her best friend, Merritt, to cancer, she’s left with not just deep sorrow but a very unexpected inheritance. Apparently, Merritt bequeathed Bea her frozen eggs—and a note telling her to use them. Odd as it may seem, Bea is absolutely up for it. The only problem? Silas, the man she wants to be the father, is the guy Merritt was always secretly in love with, which feels like a betrayal. Tarah DeWitt does a fantastic job crafting her characters and the complicated feelings guiding them. She’s especially gifted at portraying grief in all its messy, realistic forms, like when Bea finds herself experiencing random flashes of anger. We loved watching Bea grow closer and closer to Silas, who understands her journey deeply thanks to his own traumas. You don’t need to listen to the earlier books in DeWitt’s Spunes series to enjoy this story of sorrow, catharsis, and hope.

Gonna miss Spunes
I am so sad that this trilogy is over. I am going to miss Spunes so much. The audio ok is very narrated. Silas is my favorite Byrd similar. He is so sweet and caring to Bea. I love their dynamic with each other and the cat. Merritt is the most toxic friend I’ve ever read about and she definitely should have given Bea a choice if she wanted to go through iVF. What she did was scummy.
