Love and grief are the yin and yang of human existence in this stunningly heartfelt memoir. A year and a half after meeting her wife, C., Pulitzer Prize–winning writer Kathryn Schulz lost her beloved father. The two occurrences—one blissful, the other inescapably sad—frame Schulz’s beautiful exploration of what it truly means to be human. We were fascinated by Schulz’s interest in the power of words and her ideas about the language we use to convey joy and pain. As you might guess, Schulz is a great narrator whose reading adds another layer of candidness to this extraordinary book. Lost & Found is a transcendent listen that’s full of wisdom.

A truly special book
Apple has a problem. Why they won’t let someone leave more than five stars is a mystery. Have they read this book?
To say it’s beautiful would be to sell it short. Filmed with emotion that envelops you, brings you into Schulz’s world as she faces the events that make us all who we are: life, death, love, work, a lazy day on the couch with a good book, the realization that you are with the person it seems you are meant to be with. And you know it.
In writing her own story, Schulz has done it in a way that almost anyone should be able to see elements of themselves.
