In The Lost Girls, John Glatt tells the truly amazing story of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight-who were kidnapped, imprisoned, and repeatedly raped and beaten in a Cleveland house for over a decade by Ariel Castro-and their amazing escape in May 2013, which made headlines all over the world.
This book has an exclusive interview with Castro's secret girlfriend, who spent many romantic nights in his house of horror without realizing that he had bound and chained captives just a few feet away. There are also revealing interviews with several Castro family members, musician friends, and neighbors who witnessed the dramatic rescue.

This book is mesmerizing. I had a road trip and decided to download the book for my last 6 hours of driving. I wanted to keep on driving! It is well written and moves along quickly. I gave it 4 stars because the reader was awful! I began to get annoyed with the English accent. Who thought this would be a good choice? This happened in American where we speak English and pronounce our words without accents and correctly. I have to say that this was the worst part of listening to this on audio. I think I would have preferred reading it because of it. Check out the preview before buying and be sure you can listening to this voice for over 11 hours. For me it takes a little away from this tragic event and I believe nothing should have.
Unfortunately I've spent a lot of money on audiobooks that I don't even finish listening to - however this one was very very good from the start. It's the perfect amount of background on Ariel Castro (& also the girls), in my opinion there isn't ANY part that goes on too long or anything like that. It flows very well & if you're curious enough to even be reading this review I truly believe you will not be disappointed.
Bless those girls.
