Fans of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train will thrill at this “perfect page-turner” (People)—that Reese Witherspoon describes as “one of those reads you just can’t put down!” This “dark, twisty” (Entertainment Weekly), instant New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling novel follows an unforgettable young woman striving to create the perfect life—until a violent incident from her past threatens to unravel everything and expose her most shocking secret.
HER PERFECT LIFE IS A PERFECT LIE
As a teenager at the prestigious Bradley School, Ani FaNelli endured a shocking, public humiliation that left her desperate to reinvent herself. Now, with a glamorous job, expensive wardrobe, and handsome blue blood fiancé, she’s this close to living the perfect life she’s worked so hard to achieve.
But Ani has a secret.
There’s something else buried in her past that still haunts her, something private and painful that threatens to bubble to the surface and destroy everything.
With a singular voice and twists you won’t see coming, Luckiest Girl Alive explores the unbearable pressure that so many women feel to “have it all” and introduces a heroine whose sharp edges and cutthroat ambition have been protecting a scandalous truth, and a heart that's bigger than it first appears.
The question remains: will breaking her silence destroy all that she has worked for—or, will it at long last, set Ani free?
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
This gritty thriller packs a serious emotional punch. When the seemingly cold and distant Ani FaNelli agrees to be interviewed for a documentary about a teenage prank that happened at her prestigious private school, she realizes she’s not as over her painful childhood trauma as she once thought. This realization throws Ani’s whole life into upheaval, and author Jessica Knoll pulls no punches as she delves into the inner workings of a troubled survivor with adrenaline-packed flashbacks and somber psychological reflections. Narrator Madeleine Maby portrays Knoll’s troubled heroine with heartbreaking subtlety. A major bestseller that’s been adapted into a movie, Luckiest Girl Alive is a gripping listen that touches on relatable themes like the pressure to climb the social ladder and how true happiness can only come from self-realization.

Great story
I’m excited to watch the film. The story overall was good. The ending was a bit lack luster in my opinion. Writing style was easy to follow although I felt that a lot was dragged out. I don’t really like that you have no idea what’s going on until you’re nearly through with the book.
Keeps your interest
Highly recommend!
Slow burn at the start that explodes with a great story!
The beginning was slow and I found the main character deplorable at the start. When the book flipped… man it hit! I loved the reveal of the secret Anni had been carrying and how it all unfolded. I did not love the ending but it was ok. I pictured the character doing the opposite. Regardless, great story with a great message on the impact of childhood trauma. Definitely recommend!
