Beautifully Gripping & Heartfelt! Excellent Story & Narration🎧
This is a beautiful romance novel and I loved everything about it, from Marie Johnston’s wonderful writing style to the interesting characters and storylines she created to the fabulous narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, it is alway easy to fall for the characters and care about them too. Consumed in grief, Kennedy Barron lost a little of herself when her husband, Derek, died and she struggled to find her way. Her parents and Derek’s parents checked in on her, but it was Liam’s help and his show of caring that got her out of her funk. Liam and Derek were best friends, almost like brothers, and he understood Kennedy and what she was going thru and what she needed. Derek is the illegitimate son of one of the most affluent men in Coal Haven and his father, Cameron, has made life as difficult as possible for him, his wife was just as vicious. His mother died when he was a baby and his maternal grandparents took him in, when his grandfather passed away he came home to help his Grandma, Gin. His father does not want him in Coal Haven and made sure there were no jobs for him there or the surrounding towns, so he got a welding job in Williston and split his time between there and Coal Haven. His kids stay with Grandma Gin and Kennedy helps with them when she can. She used to work as a school teacher before Derek passed away she is well enough to go back to work but they already filled her position so she is working as a paraprofessional for now. This is a wonderful friends to lovers romance, some think may it is a forbidden love, a best falling for his friends wife but I think it is something Derek would have wanted, for both his wife and his best friend. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a beautifully plotted story with the emotions pour off the pages and tug on your heartstrings like no other. It was great to watch Kennedy heal and come into her own, it was also great to see Derek deal with his father and now bow down to him or his antics. Thank you Marie Johnston for this wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Lee Daniels and Tyler Darby are the perfect cast to bring these characters and story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, giving each a voice is the perfect fit for that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the character’s emotions and project them into their performance. These superbly talented voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.
