Publisher Description
'Joyous, funny and full of warm, relatable characters, this is the queer Christmas rom-com I've been waiting for' LAURA KAY
It's the golden rule of pretending to be someone's girlfriend: don't fall for their sister.
After a year from hell, Haf is ready to blow off steam at a Christmas party: a kind stranger, a few too many drinks and suddenly she's kissing Christopher under the mistletoe - in front of his ex-girlfriend.
The next day the news is out that they're apparently a couple, madly in love and coming to Oxlea to spend the festive season with Christopher's family. But Haf doesn't have better holiday plans and to save her new friend from embarrassment, she agrees to pretend to be Christopher's girlfriend for Christmas.
It has the makings of a hilarious anecdote they'll be telling for years. Until Haf meets Christopher's sister: the mysterious, magnetic and utterly irresistible Kit. Maybe love was waiting for Haf in this quiet little town all along . . .
Perfect for fans of Sarah Morgan, Laura Kay and Carol - this is sheer festive joy as you've always wanted to see it.
'The perfect cosy Christmas read - sexy, sweet and smart' KIRAN MILWOOD HARGRAVE

THIS is how you a “fake dating to fool your family at Christmas” book. This really is fantastic.
Quick Thoughts:
- Why didn’t I read this sooner? It has fake dating, misunderstandings, disability rep, a plus sized FMC, quirky characters, shenanigans, an innocent bystander who wants to be left alone, forbidden romance, and so much more that I don’t have time to list
- The quiet car guy was hilarious
- In so many books with this kind of premise, the real love interest finds out pretty quickly about the ruse but Kit doesn’t and the angst is beautiful
- I admit I was a little frustrated with Kit with the whole pantry thing but she makes up for it later (still wanted to shake her a little bit at the end though)
- I was absolutely ready to dislike the parents (especially the mom) but I loved them. They’re just people who make mistakes and are trying their best (however misguided it is at times) but are learning and willing to admit they are wrong
- The disability rep is great in this. It’s not just mentioned a couple of times then ignored. Kit talks about how it affects all aspects of her life and is upfront about her limitations in situations
- Haf is actually important to the story in encouraging characters to talk and grow, she’s not just some bystander who is just there to witness things when they happen
- I want a book (or novella) of Haf and Kit and all their friends and family. I loved them all.
- This is the first book I’ve listened to from Helen Keeley and she is now on my radar for narrators that I will listen to without trying a sample clip
Overall I loved this book and I regret not reading it last year when I bought it. It was goofy, angsty, sweet, and just so much fun that it is going into my rotation of books to listen to when I need to smile.
Very fantastic
