Publisher Description
Alexandra Scott, Alaskan Wilderness Woman. It had a terrific ring to it, but Alex felt a sudden twinge of uncertainty. She'd traded in her Wall Street job and fancy condo for a rundown cabin in the woods and a bait & tackle store. She'd wanted to escape the rat race and to go husband-hunting where men outnumbered women four to one, but was she ready for the challenge?
Then she spotted Michael Casey, a sexy pilot who was undaunted by disaster, had hero written all over him...and was a confirmed bachelor. Michael Casey was the man she had come to Alaska to hunt, and Alexandra Scott had him in her sights.

Good, Cute Book
Reader did a great job, it was a cute, quick predictable story, but I liked it.
Good idea, poor execution
The idea behind the story of "Manhunt" sounded fun to me when I was browsing through the audiobook selections. And the writing--if somewhat predictable and uneventful--isn't terrible by Janet Evanovich. But my biggest problem with this piece is the narrator. C.J. Critt sounds like she's reading to a group of giddy school girls instead of the more mature audience intended by the author. The narration is far too juvenile for this light romantic fair. However, for the economical price of the download, "Manhunt" is a fun afternoon listen. Just don't expect any wild rides or terrible suspense, and prepare for the candy-coated delivery.
Manhunt or Stephanie Plum does Alaska
Hey! CJ Critt has the perfect impertinent voice for this fun and frivilous book. If you like Evanovich, you will enjoy this one, and get your money's worth. Literature, no, but perfect for a fast walk or accompaniment for house or yard work.
Alex, the fast-track VP career "woman" (she's just 29) flees Wall Street and her Princeton, NJ condo -- trading her career for a nothing "hardware" store, (bait and fish, or bait and switch?) and an uninhabitable cabin on an Alaska mountain. Her goal is "marriage," but to a real man. The kind she thinks can be found on the frontier. Fortunately for her she runs right into the "nose" of Michael Casey. Ouch. (Think the best of Ranger and Morelli in one sensitive but emotionally injured hunk).
Alex doesn't burn up any cars, but manages to ignite her new outhouse -- and, inevitably, Casey's heart.
