Publisher Description
Fanny Price, a young girl from a poor family, is being raised by her rich uncle and aunt, Sir Thomas and Lady Bertram, at Mansfield Park. She grows up with her four cousins, Tom Bertram, Edmund Bertram, Maria Bertram and Julia, but is always treated as inferior to them; only Edmund Bertram shows her real kindness. He is also the most virtuous of the siblings: Maria and Julia are vain and spoiled, while Tom is an irresponsible gambler.
Over time, Fanny's gratitude for Edmund's kindness secretly grows into romantic love.

nicely done
I have to say that I tried reading this book and had a hard time staying attentive to it; but listening was much easier. The unabridged recording is a must if you want to follow the story. The readers voice is good and she does a nice job of keeping the characters' (and there are a ton) voices straight.
Lovely to hear Austen
I'm a big Austen fan and read this years ago, but I've pretty much forgotten it (unlike Pride or Northanger, which I've reread often). I thought I'd download it to listen to while I bike for exercise. Good decision. I'm only on Chapter 4, but the readers voice (a woman) is quite good and she gives each character their own tone. This is my biking tape so now I've got this strange feeling that I have to go for a bike ride sooner than planned just so I can get farther in the book!
It's good
It's better to get the longer version then the shorter
