Great book, bad naration
Marcus Aurelius' Meditations is one to the most enlightening and enjoyable bits of wisdom I have ever read, but the man narating this audiobook reads like the ADHD kid from your middle school class. It's like he has no prior knowledge of the material, and forgot his reading glasses on the day of the recording.
Great book, terrible reader
These writings are amazing. They are like upgrading the firmware in your brain. Sadly, the reader of this version completely butchers it. You get the feeling the reader is just saying strings of words from a paper that mean nothing to him, causing all sorts of awkward weird forced inflections that make it hard to truly absorb. I bet if you asked him what the book was about after he read it he wouldn't have a clue. Search meditations in podcasts you can download the whole thing FREE and read naturally by a real person
Clinton was right
This is just amazing. I wish I had read this twenty years ago
