Yawn.
The story of my experience with this book: I picked it up, eager. I put it down, bored. I picked it up again, hoping I was wrong. I put it down again, even more bored. Eventually I forced myself to finish it, but I wish I'd just returned it & gotten my money back.
The story continues for Merry & her men as she finds yet another forgotten relic in her bed, then proceeds to stumble from sexual encounter to sexual encounter until the book's end. This wouldn't be a bad thing if the sex wasn't so boring! All of the sex scenes read almost identical to previous encounters from any of Laurell's previous books. There's better erotica out there and there are most assuredly better urban fantasy books out there!
Die-hard fans will probably like this, but unfortunately the writing on the wall is that the Merry series has stopped being interesting with the last book & this one just puts the final nail in the coffin. Too bad it can't go back to the interesting plotlines of the first few books!
