Publisher Description
Moby-Dick is a novel by Herman Melville, in which an eerily compelling madman is pursuing an unholy war against a creature as vast and dangerous and unknowable as the sea itself. But more than just a novel of adventure, more than an encyclopedia of whaling lore and legend, Moby-Dick is a haunting, mesmerizing, and important social commentary populated with several of the most unforgettable and enduring characters in literature. Written with wonderfully redemptive humor, Moby-Dick is a profound and timeless inquiry into character, faith, and the nature of perception.

Thar She Blows!
My God. The great American Novel. When I was in high school I had an English teacher who would read books to the class, kind of like early audio books. She selected Dickens most often.
I try to imagine her reading this. Can’t visualize it.
This is the great American novel because a person actually was able to write it. The accomplishment made it great. I started enjoying the book at about chapter 60.
I’ve read it, crossed it off my bucket list, and it’s time to move on. What an ordeal. Holey Moley.
Boring Narration.
Great book. Can’t get into the audiobook due to the monotone narration. It sounds more like a mattress commercial than a reading of a classic novel.
