,Lacey finally feels that her life is taking a step in the right direction—until her new star customer turns up dead.

As the newcomer in town, all eyes are on Lacey, and it’s up to her to clear her own name.

With a business to run, a next-door neighbor turned nemesis, a flirty baker across the street, and a crime to solve – is this new life all that Lacey thought it would be?

Murder in the Manor

I thoroughly enjoyed the writing of this novel but have to say I almost could not finish it due the narration. The sing-song cadence and intonations were exasperatingly annoying! Each paragraph and at times, sentences were ended with a “very breathy trailing off”. Whether for emphasis or just trying to sound a bit more British, I’m not sure? But it was about the most annoying reading I have ever heard! Would have given at least four stars for the novel itself but had to mark down for the reading.

Implausible

Flat characters, unbelievable situations, and consistency issues on the first page. I only listened to fifteen percent before giving up.

The narrator also makes mistakes which were not edited out. Very distracting.

The book might be lovely ….but…

Should have read the reviews. I couldn’t even get through the book the narrator was so bad.
