The first installment in the thrilling, action-packed Chaos Chronicles
When John Bandicut sets out across the surface of Triton, he’s hardly ready for the storm of chaos that’s about to blow through his life. The alien Quarx that soon inhabits his mind is humanity’s first contact with an alien life. The Quarx, part of an ancient galactic civilization that manipulates chaos theory to predict catastrophic events, seeks to prevent a cometary collision that could destroy the Earth. But it must have help. If Bandicut chooses to trust the Quarx, he must break all the rules—indeed, sacrifice his life as he knows it—to prevent humanity’s greatest cataclysm.
Leaving friends and lover behind, hurtling across the solar system in a stolen spaceship, Bandicut can only pray that his actions will save the Earth—even if he doesn’t live to see it again.
I’ve listened to all the available Chaos Chronicle books, and CAN’T wait for more! This is modern SF at its best! Great character, compelling plot, high and original concepts, with a brevity of exposition that doesn’t bog the pace down, but still immerses you in wonder. Add to this a first rate narrator who reads as if he is living the story himself, and BAM! I couldn’t stop listening!
Was doubtful at first...
I have read the almost complete series of the Chaos Chronicles. I have been thoroughly sucked into the world Bandie John Bandicut and I await the Reefs of Time.
When I heard that Neptune Crossing was going to be released as an audiobook I was excited.
This preview clip I heard gave me slight pause. The narrator's reading was not what my brain envisioned for the characters...but after a few minutes of listening that all just fades away and I was immersed in the story. Great reading/narration of an excellent SciFi work.
This series is really great and has some real novel takes on the genre! Highly recommended!
