Night pleasures

Storyline is great. But the narration is not my favorite. Kyrian sounds too much like a fake Dracula. And the southern Belle accent is too strong for a Cajun. And Nick's Cajun? Not there at all. Not to mention the mispronunciation of his last name.

Cajuns do NOT sound like that

Worst. Accent. Attempt. Ever. 1000% ruined this audiobook. Who on earth approved this tripe?

A voice can ruin a book

I wanted to enjoy this audiobook. I really did!! I’m sure the story is probably awesome...and I still plan on reading the printed version. Unfortunately, I could not listen to this audiobook because the voice the narrator chose to use for the main character, Amanda, was the most annoying thing I have ever had to endure in the time I’ve been on earth. It sounded like a cross between Blanche from the Golden Girls and Ellie May Clampet from the Beverly Hillbillies. Born and raised in Louisiana myself...I can assure you that no one and I do mean not 1 person, unless they sniffed a lot of glue as a child, speaks that way in New Orleans. It was so bad and not sexy ...I mean it’s really really bad....the stepmom from that move “the toy” with Richard Pryor bad. I will have nightmares about that voice. It’s Melanie from Gone with the Wind meets that stupid vulture from the looney tunes. I hope I have at least saved one person from hearing this and being traumatized forever. You’re welcome.
