Night Train to Memphis
This is the epic Vicky Bliss. The criminal plot is big and tricky, with lots of characters (Rosenblat is genius at performing all of them) and a terrific roller-coaster ride for Vicky, both emotionally (John has married someone else without informing Vicky) and physically. It is getting harder for John & Vicky just to stay alive. Schmidt is in the thick of it! You'll get a new appreciation for Schmidt. This is the last Bliss book, probably forever, and it ties up the Vicky & John arc perfectly, though some might quibble with it. You can enjoy the Vicky Bliss series out of order, but the emotional arc is best understood & enjoyed if you read the books in order. Take your time with this, and don't be afraid of it. Jump in!
