A Leader's Field Guide
I'm a police sergeant and I've been an avid reader/listener of leadership books for nearly 20 years and this is one of the best I've ever listened to. I became a Dave Anderson fan after reading If You Don't Make Waves and this was an outstanding follow-up.
Mr. Anderson has stripped away all the politically correct b.s. that has clouded our judgment and caused us to lower standards over the years for the sake of harmony. It has been refreshing to get back to the simplicity of success through strong work-ethic, high standards, turning a deaf ear to excuses, dropping lazy non-performers and attacking mediocrity.
Everybody needs to read this book. You need to have a clear understanding of where you are and where you need to lead your people. There should be no gray areas. Keep it simple, stay tough and keep improving.
