I should’ve read who was narrating
I love this series, but I am not happy that I spent $17 on an audiobook that takes place in Louisiana and is narrated by a synthesized “Caroline” with an English accent. I just can’t get into it. Ms. Bold needs to bring back the narrator who did the last 5 books. (Book one was a different narrator). The story in this book was good as we see some surprises that I didn’t expect at all, and some more depth to the characters. I just again had a VERY hard time with the narration. I grew up in the south so having an English accent is just super distracting and unrealistic. It’s fun on my google maps, but not in a book that should have a distinct twang . I would give the story in this book a 4 star review, but because of the narration I gave it a 2.
