Publisher Description
Being stuck on a ski trip with her ex isn’t exactly Peyton’s idea of a fun vacation…but could it lead to a second chance at love?
Peyton thought she had finally met “the one” when she started dating Jared. But when he told her he never planned to get married, she had to face the facts: Maybe he wasn’t the one God intended for her after all. Now, she’s just trying to survive the annual ski trip with her bones—and her heart—intact. And maybe meet someone new….
Jared wishes he could give Peyton everything she desires. But secrets from his past mean that marriage is the one thing he can never offer her. Not that it makes it easy to let her go. Especially when everywhere he turns on this ski trip, he sees her with another man—a man Jared knows can’t be trusted.
Jared may not have any business worrying about Peyton anymore. But he’s not about to let anything happen to the woman he still loves. When a crisis rocks the trip, both have to reexamine what they want. Are their hopes for the future still too different, or can they trust that God has a plan for them?

Peace and hope replace long-held fears
He believed the lie that the past would determine his future. She feared that she would never have the future she wanted. Until they both finally stopped listening to their own fears--and listened to the Lord instead--they were missing out on the present that He planned for them. The characters make exasperating choices as they follow their own (false) narratives--as we all do! But as events unfold, they each absorb realistic, godly wisdom that ultimately opens their eyes to truth and gives them peace. The truth that God has a plan for each of us, "to give us a hope and a future," is a reminder we can all take to heart.
Great short love story!
Peyton had dreamed of marriage and a family forever and she wanted that with Jared. She was sure he would propose to her on Valentine’s Day but it didn’t happen. She had asked Jared repeatedly what his plans were but he finally told her again he just couldn’t get married. Peyton decided it was time to move on but both of them had a hard time with that decision. When their friends were getting ready for another ski trip she hesitated in going because her and Jared had always went together.
It was fun watching both of them trying to avoid each other. But Jared always watched out after Peyton even when she got hurt skiing. Why couldn’t Jared commit?
Jared finally tells Peyton his father was very abusive and he didn’t want to end up that way.
This was an audiobook the author gave me for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. The narrator was awesome!
