Publisher Description

One of the great masterpieces of Western literature, Odyssey chronicles the many trials and adventures Odysseus must pass through on his long journey home from the Trojan wars.

Though the stormy, vengeful god of the ocean is determined to keep him off course, Odysseus is clever and has the brilliant goddess Athena on his side. With wit, integrity, and bravery, Odysseus must escape the grip of the fearsome Cyclops, resist the deadly seductions of sirens and witches, and traverse the land of the dead to commune with his fallen comrades before returning to his beloved wife, who has waited for him for twenty years.

A storehouse of Greek folklore and myth, Homer’s epic tale remains as captivating today as it was 2,700 years ago.

Praise God for Audio Books

I normally am just fine reading books for school, but for some reason I have had the most horrible time of attempting to read the Odyssey. I bought this version of it and I have enjoyed it a lot. The narrator is good.

Its the right one...

Taking honors english 9 at OLJH it is the same book as we are reading for class, translated by the same guy, W.H.D. Rouse

Life Saver!!

Though it is a great story, this is probably one of the most boring and confusing books to read. Listening to the audiobook and following along made it so much easer. Definitely would've failed honors english 9 without this audiobook! I recommend it to anyone having trouble comprehending this novel.
