Olive Kitteridge is a moody, irascible math teacher living in small-town Maine. Despite being far from what most would call likable, Elizabeth Strout’s prickly heroine has a strange charisma that seems to fascinate everyone around her—including us. Olive Kitteridge is a novel told through short stories that explore the heroine from the points of view of different neighbors and acquaintances. Narrator Kimberly Farr makes capturing Olive’s many contradictions look easy. Her warm but unaffected delivery perfectly embodies the book’s entire cast of hardscrabble, small-town characters, making every one of Strout’s creations feel like a real and vital person. Each chapter reveals a surprising truth, from an elderly husband’s infidelity to a minister’s daughter’s rebellion to crotchety Olive’s own unexpected acts of kindness. This is a perfect listen for a car ride.

Why do my Apple book audiobooks CUT OUT?
Cuts out from the first 3 words. Was so excited when I purchased this book and I have been extremely disappointed
It wasn’t for me
It was an entire book on a grumpy old lady with no real story line. Seeing all aspects of her life was well written but I wouldn’t recommend.
Don’t waste your time
This book is sooo boring! I kept listening hoping it would get better but it never did. There are a ton of pointless narratives and characters throughout the book that never lead to any solid conclusion.
