Wonderful Story & Listen🎧Captivating & Delightful!
Anna Durand pens another wonderfully delightful romantic comedy, an opposites attract workplace romance, set in her fabulous “Hot Brits” series. The story drew me in, grabbing my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire book. The characters are easy to relate to and connect with and easy to like and even fall for. Spencer Halfenaked received a promotion at his job in the U.K., but it meant moving to the United States, and not wanting to miss his opportunity he accepted the job. When he first arrived at his new office he was ecstatic and behaved a little silly, not knowing someone would be joining him in his office. Tabitha Remington, his new assistant, caught him in the act, not his normal behavior, but he was so taken by her that it did not lead to an awkward moment, instead she made him feel comfortable and even giddier, than he first felt. Except nothing was going to come of what he was feeling, she was his new assistant and they need to keep it professional, despite the one stolen kiss and unprofessional moment. I adored these two characters, the somewhat quirky Tabitha brought out the best in Spencer and I thought they were great together and for each other. I loved how everything played out in this book, as with all of Ms. Durand’s books, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. The story has the perfect balance of drama, charm, humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Also loved how the American Wives Club stepped in for what they do best, an intervention from a distance this time.
🎧📚🎧 Lucy Rivers and Will Watt were a joy to listen to, they did an amazing job bringing the characters to life and their portrayal of each was spot on. I loved how they took their roles and made them their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Watt nailed it as Spencer, grasping all sides of his personality, and Rivers did the same as Tabitha. Both were just as fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two are entertaining storytellers and their performance elevates this already fantastic story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.
