The thrilling follow-up to the New York Times bestselling novel One Second After
Months before publication, One Second After was cited on the floor of Congress as a book all Americans should read, a book discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a truly realistic look at the dangers of EMPs. An EMP is a weapon with the power to destroy the entire United States in a single act of terrorism, in a single second; indeed, it is a weapon that the Wall Street Journal warns could shatter America. One Second After was a dire warning of what might be our future … and our end.
One Year After returns to the small town of Black Mountain and the man who struggled to rebuild it in the wake of devastation: John Matherson. It is a thrilling follow-up and should delight fans in every way.
The book is great! Narrator so so
The that is fantastic and well written. thoroughly and proceed. My only complaint was the narrator in the audiobook. His speaking voice is fantastic. Unfortunately, his accent of the characters involved sound like a bad version of the movie Deliverance. It detracts heavily from the audiobook. The content still makes it enjoyable though.
Great author, terrible narrator
This series is excellent. But the narration of this book is completely distracting. The main character of this book is from New Jersey. The narrator of this book voices him, along with most other main characters as what I can only imagine is his idea of a redneck’s accent. Not only are his accents poorly executed, but completely unnecessary for the characters that he is trying to portray. This series actually put a lot of thought and back story into it’s characters. Why bring in a narrator who treats this like a Beverly Hillbillies reboot. I can’t give this book a rating because I really do love the story can’t wait to read the third book in the series. But you can tell that nobody that was involved in the production of this audiobook even new enough about this series to care about continuity.
Could not stop listening
One of the best audio books I have read! Absolutely amazing. Could not stop listening!
