The Conscience of a Liberal. He is one of the founders of the "new trade theory", for which he was awarded the John Bates Clark medal by the American Economic Association. A professor of economics and international affairs at Princeton University, Krugman has written or edited 20 books and more than 200 papers in professional journals and edited volumes.
