It was one dark night that brought Damon Wolfe and Sophie Parker together. They were two tortured souls, looking for escape, and they weren't supposed to see each other ever again…
Four years later, Sophie's FBI father, who is also Damon's mentor, is killed in a suspicious car crash after leaving Sophie a cryptic message to trust no one from the agency. When Damon shows up looking for her, she isn't sure if he's friend or enemy, but she knows he could easily rip apart what is left of her heart.
The last thing Damon wants is to get involved with Sophie again. It was hard enough to walk away the first time. But she's in trouble, her father's reputation is under attack, and the lives of his fellow agents are at stake if there's a traitor in their midst.
When someone starts shooting at them, they have no choice but to go on the run and off the grid. Everyone in their world becomes a suspect. They want to uncover the truth, but will it turn out to be the last thing they expect? Proving her father's innocence might just cost them their hearts…and their lives…

Very good
I really enjoyed the story. Easy to follow and kept me wanting to hear more. The narrator was amazing! She actually played each character as a separate person. She kept me in the story instead of being breathless or trying to hard to be sexy unlike the Captain Kirk wanna be’s. I’ll keep reading these.
Horrible Narrator
This was a good book. However, the narrator was horrible. It wasn’t that her voice itself was a huge problem - It was that she was very frequently out of sync with the emotion or tone of the words she was reading. Her tone would be cheery or casual sounding when the character was communicating confusion or distress in the words. Half the time it was like she was a sorority girl reading a cheery restaurant menu while the characters had intense conversations. Reading a book requires the narrator to have a modicum of acting ability - to suit the action to the word so to speak. This one had none. I would have liked to listen to the next books in the series but I am not sure I can endure more bad audiobook acting again.
Fantastic story & performance!
Listened to Perilous Trust this weekend and absolutely loved it. The pacing is tremendous and the characters well drawn. Amy McFadden's performance adds another dimension to story as she draws listeners into the dynamic, FBI-world and its intrigue.
I highly recommend this for everyone who loves suspenseful stories well told and well performed.
