The physician in question in this collection is a young woman forced to face the dilemma many did during the recent pandemic.

Though it is written as fiction, the story reflects in great detail the anguishing personal conflicts of conscious the medical people at the time were suffering. Other stories include a tale of a neo-colonialist businessman, a reluctant capitalist caught between his duties to his company and his desire to help preserve indigenous culture.
