Poor narration of a great story
This was a good "read." The story is satisfyingly tragic and crazy-making. The characters are well realized, and the sentences are graceful.
But the narration was infuriating in a couple of ways. Place names were consistently mispronounced. Dyess AFB is pronounced Die-Ess not Dice. And Bangor, Maine is pronounced Bang Gor not Banger. Finally "airman," as in a junior enlisted person in the US Air Force, is pronounced Airmuhn, with the stress on the first syllable, not Air Man, with both syllables receiving equal emphasis.
In general, the lack of attention to detail in the audio recording is disappointing. I feel I deserve a partial refund.
