Five years have gone by since the devastation of the buffalo stampede hit Clearmont, and the three-part season opener titled "The Twisted Badge" puts Marshal Britt MacMasters in the most dangerous place he has ever been – the other side of the Law.

In "Those We Leave Behind", Britt finds 15-year-old Matt Andersen alone on the prairie - the son of an outlaw recently killed in a shoot out. Meanwhile, Jud Corey, whose brother was killed by the outlaw years before, wants his revenge on the boy.

And in "The Gunfighter", Chad encounters his first crisis as deputy when a mob wants to lynch a reformed gunfighter who has stopped in Clearmont on the way to his daughter’s wedding. Not the best season

While the first 4 seasons of Powder River have been funny, suspenseful, sad, action packed, season 5 is lacking some of those OMG moments I have come to expect from the show. All in all still worth listening to.

Still The Best Modern Western Series

I have all the seasons of Powder River, and am a big fan. This season is another strong one, and a great entertainment value.

ANOTHER SIX SHOOTING WINNER

Loved Season 5! it had humorous episodes (The Rival is borderline slapstick almost) and "Clearmont" is one of the very best in the entire series. The two-parter called "Into Their Own Hands" is about a group of kids who form a posse to track their parents killers, and find the wrong guys; but it's a chilling nail biter, and knowing that Powder River is not afraid to kill off major characters, made it more so. "Those we leave behind" is another episode that really turns things around the way you would not expect it to be. All in all, a fantastic season of shows long overdue. Why people are giving the show one star because they had trouble downloading is weird. Their beef is with iTunes and should not be giving Powder River a bad rating because they have computer or download issues. I had no trouble with it. Can't wait for season 6.
