Pride and Prejudice
Publisher Description
English actress Kate Beckinsale is the perfect reader for Jane Austen’s brilliant satire-slash-love story.
Very few novels inspire the kind of fanatical devotion that Jane Austen’s Regency-era classic does. Pride and Prejudice follows the inimitable Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters, who are expected to behave in just-so, socially acceptable ways…but that’s not really in the cards. Pride and Prejudice is a witty satire, a family melodrama, and, above all, one of the greatest—and most imitated—love stories in Western literature.
There was no such thing as an audiobook when Jane Austen first published Pride and Prejudice in 1813, but we know that Austen liked to test her novels by reading them out loud to her family. Actress Kate Beckinsale narrates this Apple Books exclusive audiobook of the beloved English novel, which is perfect considering Beckinsale portrayed another Austen heroine in a 1996 movie adaptation of Emma.

Dense… but timeless
First let me start out by saying, Kate Beckinsale does a great job narrating! Wonderful voices for each of the characters. The story is timeless, hence why so many people love the various movies based on this book. I personally don’t think I would’ve made it through this book if I hadn’t decided to do an audiobook. It’s just so dense, but it’s a classic, and actually a classic for a good reason. Jane Austen is timeless with her stories and knew how to write a book that could continue on through the ages. I’m glad I finally get to mark this one off my TBR, but I don’t think it’ll be one I try to reread one day.
It’s okay
I liked the narrator the voice really brought it to life but it would just kill the mood ALL OF THE TIME I would not recommend I was very disappointed…
