This Passion Translation really speaks to me. I don't feel wiser in my mind for having listened to it but it certainly speaks to my heart and spirit. This audiobook is read FLAWLESSLY by the translator Doctor Brian Simmons. I'm thrilled about that because who better to read it than the one who's translated it? His reading pulls on my heart as he expresses so PASSIONATELY exactly what's in my heart too!!! How I long for daily intimacy with Father, Son and Holy Spirit. How sorry I am when I fall short of acting like our beloved savior! How safe I feel as my deliverer shields, guides, protects and provides for me. How I delight in his incredibly tender loving care of me❗️❗️❗️How does he do that? He's omnipotent yet more gentle than a whisper. I T-R-E-A-S-U-R-E this audiobook❗️❗️❗️ It's more valuable than pure gold. I highly esteem every WORD as though it is THE WORD OF GOD... Because it truly IS ... THE WORD OF GOD❗️ I love most Bibles and there is great value in every translation but to me... NOTHING COMPARES or comes close to The Passion Translation done by the translator himself. At first it seems a bit strange, odd, or different. I was used to the beautiful KJV for over 40 years. Then, The Passion Translation kept pulling on my heart. As I listened again and again to it, I transformed like a love- sick teenager for my God. It keeps the fires burning for HIM. I can't wait to listen to some New Testament translations in audiobook form by Dr Simmons. I like to listen while I work or drive or sometimes while I sleep. It feeds my spirit while it cleanses and changes me in ways I don't really understand but I NEED! I hope and pray all the audiobooks are read by doctor Simmons. I can't imagine a wiser way to spend the money than to purchase this beautiful audiobook. Thank you ITunes for carrying it. 👏🏼
Awesome Translation- Not the best audiobook.
The Passion translation by Dr. Simmons has been a huge blessing in my life. I read it daily! I like to listen to the Bible when I'm commuting, sleeping, or waiting in line. I was excited to find an audio version of this Bible. I would suggest that Dr. Simmons seek out a professional voice over artist. There is a HUGE difference between a professional speaker and a professional voice over artist. This audiobook does not do justice to the text. No offense to Dr. Simmons, of course, but I feel that this audiobook falls flat.
