A fascinating lesson in the universe
I had the great fortune of having Dr. Berendzen as an astronomy professor in his final year at American University, and this recording is the next best thing to sitting in his lecture hall. Professor Berendzen's knack for beautiful, off the cuff prose and uncanny ability to speak plainly about the cosmos is unparalleled. A "must-listen" for any armchair astronomer!
Pulp Physics
I have listened to this on my Ipod three times in the last two months. I'm still enthralled. Easy listening yet so fascinating. I recommend it highly
Wonderful!!
I have listened to it 3 or 4 times now. It goes over the history of astronomy and astronomy itself listing each planet and large object in our solar system to deep space. And it tackles the topic of quantum physics. Also...I must add Berendzen has a very friendly voice and makes the 3 hours and change go by so quickly. It also is set in lay terms so anyone can understand it.
