The #1 New York Times bestselling series!
Red Queen, by #1 New York Times bestselling author Victoria Aveyard, is a sweeping tale of power, intrigue, and betrayal, perfect for fans of George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones series.
Mare Barrow's world is divided by blood—those with common, Red blood serve the Silver-blooded elite, who are gifted with superhuman abilities. Mare is a Red, scraping by as a thief in a poor, rural village, until a twist of fate throws her in front of the Silver court. Before the king, princes, and all the nobles, she discovers she has an ability of her own.
To cover up this impossibility, the king forces her to play the role of a lost Silver princess and betroths her to one of his own sons. As Mare is drawn further into the Silver world, she risks everything and uses her new position to help the Scarlet Guard—a growing Red rebellion—even as her heart tugs her in an impossible direction.
One wrong move can lead to her death, but in the dangerous game she plays, the only certainty is betrayal.
And don’t miss Broken Throne: A Red Queen Collection, featuring three brand-new novellas and other exclusive content, coming in April!

The Hunger Games meets Like Matches for Wishes
Wow -
This was a really fun read that reminded me of both:
-The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
and
the lesser known Like Matches for Wishes by Lee Ann Ward. < Strongly recommend.
This almost felt like a mashup of the 2 aforementioned books, however, it had plenty of its own original world-building and other aspects as well. Based on this, I would absolutely read more by Aveyard.
It packs action, drama, a bit of romance, lots of betrayal, bullying and of course, an entire society oppressed by another, richer, more scandalous, corrupt society, so there’s a long history of genocide. If you enjoy dystopian-type reads with a fairytale vibe, I think you’ll enjoy this. It elicits lots of feels and ends up being a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. Well done, Victoria.
Who doesn’t love a good revolution tale?
(And thanks so much to the publisher for distributing the audio version wide, because that means I was able to borrow it from my local library.)
Immediately ran off to find book 2.
4 stars.

Audio:
The audio was just a single narrator, but she did an excellent job performing. Sound quality is high, overall.
Great book!!
You stay hooked the whole time. Semi quick read, but I had nothing else to do. Read it in 2 days partially because I was bored but mostly because I was sooo interested in what would happen next and I had so many endings thought out but I never guessed the one that actually happens.
Red Queen
It’s a book that comes to life when you read it
