Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Smart satire
Star Treck fans, geeks, sci fi fans, all of the above. You will love this book. Plus Will Wheaton as narrator is a nice touch.
Fans of the original Star Trek will love this
Anyone who appreciated the original Star Trek series should go ahead and download this book right now. The book is great and Wil Wheaton's performance makes it even better.
Sure WE all know those guys in the red shirts who go on away missions are doomed, but have you ever really wondered WHY?
Absolutely loved it!
I've been a Scalzi fan for years, and I have to say that this is my favorite novel he's written yet. He has that gift for making you laugh and cry and feel horrified and awed, all in the space of about three paragraphs, and I personally love his style of banter between characters. Speaking of characters, this book has a great cast; by the end I found myself wishing I could spend more time with them, and I wonder if we'll ever see a sequel (the ending was pretty conclusive, but...I want more!). Add in Wil's warm, lighthearted reading, and this one is well worth the price.
