IT'S NOT GAME OVER UNTIL THE GAME'S OVER!

Someday, the hero Mazel will battle the Demon Lord with the fate of the realm at stake. But until that day...he better be carrying plenty of potions! While the hero is off saving the kingdom, it's up to Lord Werner--a Japanese office worker reincarnated into the world of a classic RPG--to keep the rest of the world from becoming collateral damage. There's no hero, luminary, or warrior of light who doesn't need a friend like Werner! But can he truly defy the flames of fate and change the bittersweet ending of the game?

AEVargas1992 ,

Finally a competent Protagonist in a competent Isekai world.

If you like the wheel of time then you will like this series. This series does away with the generic Isekai troops that are seen in many other stories and gives competence in its characters instead and that’s the best praise I can give to a series in this genre. Great series all together that gets better with each consecutive release.

Now the narration is another story. All I can say is the narrator uses the wrong voice for almost every character to the point it causes confusion. Mazel who is a teenage country boy sounds like a 55 year old aristocrat and Werner who is praised for his calm and noble demeanor, a character trait that has huge story relevance in the latter books, sounds a little to emotional. Almost every male noble character sounds the same which did cause some more confusion at times as well. But this is just my critic of the narrator and hopefully he finds some better voices for the characters going forward.
