Romantic suspense, protective hero - don’t miss!
Another warm, romantic, and suspenseful story in the Ghost Legacy series, delivered with the rich detail and sizzle that I’ve come to expect from P.J. Fiala. While a standalone, this third book is best read in the sequence, to help you understand the BRR (local militia group/commune) and the backstories of other team members. Each of the previous books is great… so highly recommend starting with “Finding Lara.”
In “Rescuing Kenna,” Kenna is home filling in for her ill father as a determined process server, and Spencer Lawson is part of the Ghost team. She is stressed at multiple levels – trying to serve papers on the BRR head - which results in damage done to her; an abusive ex that she fled years ago, watching; and her father’s deteriorating health and stubbornness. Spencer, a born protector, is trying to keep security on line for the project (Ghost’s been brought for that), while sabotage and hacking play havoc… and now he’s trying to protect the woman for whom he may want more than just time between the sheets.
Each part of their life requires the support of each other and the team. Who’s the stalker? What’s up with the BRR? And more… It’s the expected happy ending but a ride to get there!
I highly recommend this. I listened in audio, and the delivery drew me in to listen even more than I intended, and enhanced the story. The dual narration added interest and made it flow well. This review was eagerly volunteered and based on an ARC.
Excellent narration, stand alone in series
I’ve listened to a few PJ Fiala audiobooks, mostly from this series though I’ve started the GHOST backlog as well. They can be listened to as a stand alone, though I do like the additional background I had on the BRR from listening to the first book in this series.
Troy Duran and Rose Dioro are fabulous narrators. The hours flew by as I listened to this story.
