Haters will always hate
Drew Karpyshyn tells a wonderful and engaging story that answers most if not all of the questions people were asking themselves after playing Knights of the Old Republic as well as the sequel. I, for one, recommend this book to all Star Wars fans. Having knowledge of the events that transpire in the games isn't necessary to appreciate this book, but definitely make the experience even more satisfying. This book may not be what you want or even expect, but it sheds light on aspects of the Star Wars Universe and life in general that are often not in the forefront of people's minds. I'm uncertain why I see so many negative reviews from people who claim to be fans. It is easy to get blinded by what you imagine should happen for any character, but how often does that coincide with what the author will ultimately write? Drew Karpyshyn paints a vivid picture that makes perfect sense when bringing KOTOR, the sequel and The Old Republic MMO together.
Major letdown... I thought it was called Revan
This was extremely disappointing and clearly just was catering to the upcoming TOR MMO. This book barely gave insight to the incredibly deep relationships in the KOTOR series. The ending is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. I hated how little this remained consistent with the awesome plots and story lines that fans of KOTOR have grown accustomed to. They should have made KOTOR 3 instead of introducing us to this lame excuse for a book.

I'm gonna shoot strait here. I've read this book and it is a short story that lasts about only 60% of the book. If you are just a fan of star wars and you are looking for a great story, read the thrawn book. This is honestly a kotor story that the fans of the 2 games should NOT read! It is far better to leave it a mystery of what happened to revan than to know. It brings the story of his life to a conclusion, but makes it all for nothing. Characters that we fell in love with are needlessly slaughtered and I do not consider this canon.
