Captivating!
I loved this story! From almost the moment I started to read it. This is the first Jen Frederick story that I have read and I was not disappointed. I truly felt the connection these two shared and was rooting for them from the first very playful but hot interaction that had me grinning from ear to ear.
Natalie Beck is a famous author who also wrote the storyline for Saturnalia the number one gaming phenomenon. But Natalie was attacked in the subway three years ago and has suffered from agoraphobia living her life in fear of leaving her small Manhattan apartment. When she receives another threatening note her cousin Oliver hires Tanner security to look into the threats that she has been receiving.
Jake Tanner is a former Army Ranger, who knows about fear from his tour in Afghanistan, as well as from when he returned, after losing two limbs from a IED explosion. But Jake doesn't let his prosthetic hand and foot stop him from living a normal life. So when he is hired by Oliver to find out who is behind these threats and why, as well as keeping Natalie safe he knows he will need to get Natalie's trust in order to do his job.
But from their first phone call Jake is mesmerized by her sultry, sexy voice, her flirty, witty banter and the sexy woman who is struggling with her fear. Natalie is also captivated by this sweet, caring, patient and protective man and as they slowly get to know each other through phone calls, emails and texts, they both start to fall for each other before they even meet. I really liked learning more about their past and watching them come together. They had a playfulness and flirtatiousness to them that really exploded into a lot of Hotness. The sex scenes were sizzling hot and their chemistry was off the charts.
So who is threatening Natalie? Why? Will Natalie and Jake get a HEA? You will just have to read to find out. Loved this story. Highly recommended!
