Publisher Description
Yes, I’m a single dad who needs a nanny for the summer.
But hiring the stranded runaway bride who shows up on my doorstep in a wedding gown with no references, no skills, and no experience?
No one is that desperate.
Except within 24 hours, down-on-her-luck Veronica Sutton manages to charm my kids, my family, and half the population of Cherry Tree Harbor into believing she’s perfect for the job.
And for me.
It’s not that I can’t see the appeal–those baby blue eyes? The endless legs? That mouth made for trouble? But I’ve got enough on my plate, raising two kids on my own and keeping the family business alive. I don’t have the time or the inclination to fall for an outspoken city girl.
So I should have kept my hands to myself.
Holding her in my arms was a big mistake. Even worse? Spending the night together. She ignites a possessive fire in me that I’m finding hard to snuff out.
But the most unforgivable? Growing attached to the sound of her laugh, the scent of her skin, and the way her body wraps around mine in the dark.
At the end of the summer, she’ll be gone.
And if I’m not careful, she might run away with my heart.

Veronica Sutton is a runaway bride in a town she knows nothing about. She is told about a nanny job and with no home, barely any money, and no car she rushes to go have an interview, while still in her wedding dress.
Austin Buckley is a single dad in desperate need of a nanny for his twins. When a runaway bride shows up on his door step he thinks she’s crazy and doesn’t want to fire her at all. She has no experience, no skills, and no references. Unfortunately his kids are instantly charmed by her along with most of the town.
Runaway Love is so good. I instantly got pulled in. The banter is hilarious and I absolutely loved Roni. Austin is the grumpy dad that eventually softens and falls for her. I am obsessed with all of Melanie Harlow’s books. Highly recommend them all.
So fun!
A fun read featuring Austin, a single dad and Roni, the runaway bride (for good reason). Also a kind of grumpy/sunshine romance, which I have to admit, is kind of my favorites and boy, were the main characters written well to provide a great foil for each other. Add in the kids, Austin’s siblings (setting the stage for the rest of the series) and a wonderful small town, replete with nosy but well meaning neighbors and I laughed and swooned and oh yes, fanned myself because wow, the steam. Such a wonderful read.
