A funny, sexy, and emotionally riveting stand-alone contemporary romance by New York Times best-selling author Melissa Foster. Running on Diesel is the perfect love story for those who enjoy fiercely loyal and insanely sexy alpha heroes, smart, sassy heroines, strong family bonds, bikers, babies, and more!
Desmond “Diesel” Black is a Nomad with the Dark Knights motorcycle club. He protects others with his life and always rides alone. Tracey Kline left the only family she had for a man who broke more than her spirit, leaving her untrusting and on her own. When a twist of fate reveals pieces of the other no one else sees, will they be able to help each other mend their past hurts and learn to trust the chemistry and connection that’s too strong to deny?
The Whiskeys are perfect beach reads with depth of story, strong family ties, and a wealth of emotions. Small-town love stories with happily ever afters guaranteed. The Dark Knights motorcycle club is not a typical MC book. These bad-boy bikers are tough, but they have hearts of gold...and they're not afraid to use them.
Learning to love
Diesel has been on the open road for years, never settling down but when his extended family needs him he has stayed home and looked out for them and the sweet young girl that came to them broken. He won't let anything happen to Tracey, not even letting himself get too close to hurt her.
Tracey escaped an abusive situation and didn't feel like she could go home to her family. She landed with the Whiskeys and now she has a new family to love and love her. She has mended both physically and emotionally but the big growly bear of a man named Diesel Black is pushing her buttons. She goes from wanted to pummel him to wanting to ride him. How can she get past those feelings without loosing her heart along the way?
Jacob Morgan and Savannah Peachwood are so good narrating this book. Loved their voices and listening to both of them.
I love Melissa Foster's books. They show us not to judge someone by their looks. One would think the tough men of the Dark Knights MC are rough and not someone you would want in your life but that is the farthest thing from the truth. They are good guys doing great things for their community and protecting those they love with all they have. They all have hearts as big as they are and love with all they have and Diesel is no different. Loved the book and love the series and highly recommend it.
Great addition to this series
Tracey and Diesel's story was one addicting story! Their story had me hooked from the start and made for a great addition to this series!
Tracey, trying to rebuild her life after getting out of an abusive relationship, has a rocky work relationship with broody bartender Diesel. She is attacked while working at the bar, Whiskey Bro's, where Diesel comes to her rescue and then stays with her afterwards and then their relationship blossoms from there.
Diesel - bartender, nomad, bounty hunter and fierce protector of those he feels close to. He has been fighting his attraction to Tracey for a while and once she gets attacked, he realizes that he needs to do something. Unfortunately, he chooses to leave until Tracey takes matters into her own hands and calls him out.
This pair were a well written pair. Both were damaged by their pasts - Tracey with the abuse from her last boyfriend and her decision to leave her mother for the boyfriend making her feel like she no longer has a family. Diesel, still mourning the death of his mother figures out who his father is and then has to deal with that news. Both of them are able to find closure for themselves, making them a relatable couple and this is before we even get to the chemistry that they have between them. BTW - it was off the charts!
This book can be read as a stand alone read even though it is book 7 in the series. The audio version performed by Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan was performed well making it an enjoyable listening experience. The pair did a great job bringing this story to life.
Overall, this was a great read as well as addition to this series. I would recommend it to others.
