Fast-paced with lots of sexy tension
After reading book 1 I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Dom and Ariana’s story. And I fully enjoyed it. Although the main romance is a new couple, the over-arching story continues in this post-apocalyptic suspense romance. They are still trying to find an antidote for the addictive drug that has affected so much of society.
Ariana’s unrequited feelings for Dom have wrecked her for years. Knowing that he will never love her as he’s fallen for her sister, she has to get used to being alone. She has dreams of retiring after the fight and raising a child on her own. But Dom’s not having any of it and has vowed to show Ariana how great they can be together. As they work together to save humanity, they learn to gradually trust each other. He should get a medal for his patience dealing with Ariana deflecting his advances at every turn. Yet the wait is delicious and I loved how they finally came together. I’m so happy Ariana finally found got her man.
Ri Paige and Curtis Michael narrate Ariana and Dom. These narrators also voiced book 1 and they do a great job here as well. Ri really showed Ariana’s strength and as she did her best to keep her heart closed off from Dom. Curtis Michael had a wonderful deep voice with a touch of growl for Dom. He played Dom with intensity but had the gentleness for his love for Ariana.
