Publisher Description

In this instant New York Times bestseller, the celebrated author of Make Your Bed shares amazing adventure stories from his career as a Navy SEAL and commander of America's Special Operations Forces.
Admiral William H. McRaven is a part of American military history, having been involved in some of the most famous missions in recent memory, including the capture of Saddam Hussein, the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips, and the raid to kill Osama bin Laden.
Sea Stories begins in 1960 at the American Officers' Club in France, where Allied officers and their wives gathered to have drinks and tell stories about their adventures during World War II -- the place where a young Bill McRaven learned the value of a good story. Sea Stories is an unforgettable look back on one man's incredible life, from childhood days sneaking into high-security military sites to a day job of hunting terrorists and rescuing hostages.
Action-packed, inspiring, and full of thrilling stories from life in the special operations world, Sea Stories is a remarkable memoir from one of America's most accomplished leaders.

Well done sir!

Buy it, read and re-read for life.

So well written- and so incredibly well narrated. I am thankful to Bill McRaven for sharing his experiences with the world (with the rest of us) as a true companion for life, love, loyalty, communication, teamwork, professionalism, awareness, friendship, and navigation through the good, the tough, the known, the unknown, and and the certainty that is family and friends, chosen family, in life. I will buy this in print copy to have for my toolbox and reference and as a reminder always to do what is right, never give up.

Best of America

Admiral McRaven is an example of true leadership. I was not a SEAL, but if I would have read this as a 16 year old kid, I would have run through a wall, to get a chance, to run through a wall for him. This book gives a unique insight into what, and who, was behind the operation in the war against terror. I love that the Admiral was the narrator as well. Most of us first saw the Admiral at the UT commencement speech he gave. I’ve played that speech for my kids, my crew of 40+ guys I lead at work, and at a company safety meeting of over 200 people. Every time you can see it the eyes…paradigm shift. Anyway, this is a must listen.
