Good detail
Enjoyed diving into science concepts I have tried to envision myself.
VERY similar to McDevitt's other books
If you've never read (or listened to) McDevitt, he spins a great story, and the mysteries are interesting, usually involving the discovery of long-lost information and things. You could argue that his stories are archaeological mysteries written in the future. Also, one thing I appreciate about McDevitt's work is its humanity. He doesn't go for deus ex machina endings. If you've not familiar with his work, or you've only read/heard one or two others, this is a great story-5 stars.
HOWEVER, if you have read a lot of McDevitt's other work, they really start to blend together, in this novel. This review is based on the novel, not the audio version, and I was halfway through the book before I finally decided that I had not read this book, before. If you've read his other books, this may be letdown-3 stars.
Great book
Great book. One that you can't put down, and when you do, calls out for you to pick it up again. Must read.
