Be warned: Stories heavily abridged!
These stories are read expressively and entertainingly by trained actors, but contrary to the title, they are absolutely not “unabridged”. They were heavily edited. The story Xinghu, for example, probably contains no more than 1/3 of Wharton’s actual text. Whoever did the editing did not merely leave out boring description material, but often some of the funniest dialogue.
