A legendary order of knights bears mystical powers which they use to hunt out the dreaded shade, monsters that regular people turn into if trapped in darkness for the length of a fall.
It is a world of enchanted swords, merciless monsters, mystical knights, and hard magic, filled with tales of wonder and adventure.

An artistic masterpiece!
This is a truly unique and fresh work of art. I thoroughly enjoyed every page of the book and every minute of the audiobook. Shad is an incredible author, and I look forward with great anticipation for his next masterful work.
I look forward to future works
It felt a tad over the top and fast paced towards the end, but it was very good nonetheless. A uniquely crafted world, magic system and deep character driven plot definitively show that the world isn’t out of excellent storytelling ideas, nor in short supply of quality storytellers, or world builders. It was a refreshing take on fantasy that strayed far from the norm, wasn’t terrified to take risks and didn’t limit itself to the modern attempt of “realism” so excessive in many modern works that when something fantastical DOES occur in them it feels jarring.
Brilliantly well done
Hats off to Shad. Excellent world building while not spending an exaggerated amount of time on it. The main characters past and present are written in a way where you are constantly either hoping for his demise or a glorious victory which keeps your desire to learn more well fed.
