Publisher Description

A frank, smart, and captivating memoir by the daughter of Apple founder Steve Jobs

Born on a farm and named in a field by her parents―artist Chrisann Brennan and Steve Jobs―Lisa Brennan-Jobs’ childhood unfolded in a rapidly changing Silicon Valley. When she was young, Lisa’s father was a mythical figure who was rarely present in her life. As she grew older, her father took an interest in her, ushering her into a new world of mansions, vacations, and private schools. His attention was thrilling, but he could also be cold, critical, and unpredictable. When her relationship with her mother grew strained in high school, Lisa decided to move in with her father, hoping he’d become the parent she’d always wanted him to be.

Small Fry is Lisa Brennan-Jobs’ poignant story of a childhood spent between two imperfect but extraordinary homes. Scrappy, wise, and funny, young Lisa is an unforgettable guide through her parents’ fascinating and disparate worlds. Part portrait of a complex family, part love letter to California in the seventies and eighties, Small Fry is an enthralling book by an insightful new literary voice.

Excellent perspective as to who Steve Jobs was as a person

Daughter Lisa Brennan Jobs is a GIFTED WRITER - not just the eldest daughter of Jobs whom he refused to support & to acknowledge during Lisa’s early grade school years. Despite Court Orders & DNA test that proved Paternity. Lisa Brennan - whose name was later changed based on her father’s permission- to Lisa Brennan Jobs offers unique insight as to her life & that of her father & his new family. I’ve listened to the audiobook several times. Nevertheless, I re-listen to the audiobook frequently since purchasing it.

Not just because it is about Apple’s Founder, BUT BECAUSE THE AUTHOR’s account is superlative… I’ve listened to other audiobooks, eg Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs… BUT Lisa Brennan Jobs’ is, by far, the best…

Well written &, best of all, it describes in words “The Human Condition” that describes Steve Jobs & the people within his “world”.

Thank you, Lisa Brennan Jobs, for sharing your insight, “history” with your father. You “paint a picture” with your text, audiobook… Your honest first-person account is a treasure!

I have verbally recommended this audiobook to over 25 people. Many who are Apple Corp employees- who know little about Apple’s Founder & Woz who financially supported Lisa (while Lisa was a student @ Harvard).

This book & its exceptional audiobook are the product of a brilliant writer, Lisa, clearly “merits” accolades- she is NOT a “nepo now-grown kid”.

This audiobook is priceless.
