Publisher Description
Jill Strathern left town for the big city and never looked back—until she returned home years later to run a small law practice. It turns out her childhood crush, Mac Kendrick, a burned-out LAPD cop, has also come back to sleepy Los Lobos. Even though Mac rejected her back in high school, Jill can't deny the attraction she still feels for him.
Now Jill and Mac are tangled in enough drama to satisfy the most jaded L.A. denizens—Mafia dons, social workers, angry exes and one very quirky eight-year-old make even the simplest romance complicated. And it all goes to prove that when it comes to affairs of the heart, there's no place like home. An unlikely pair...but a perfect match.

Fixed and worth listening to
I waited over a year to see if someone would buy this audiobook and indicate it was fixed. It is fixed and the story is great. This book is the first and "Falling for Gracie" is the follow up. You get to understand Falling for Gracie if you listen to this one first since some of the same characters are in the 2nd book. This book is not as good as her Fools Gold series but it is entertaining.
The book is entertaining, the narrator not so much.
I enjoy Susan Mallery books quite a bit and this book didn't disappoint. Unfortunately, the narration was difficult to listen to. Every character sounded the exact same, the reading was wasn't smooth and she spoke in such a way that someone might characterize her as being an air head.
Is the problem fix?
I would like to purchase this. Does anyone know if the problem is fix?
