This book is very motivating. Among the areas Ratey covers are: stress, depression, ADHD, hormones, and aging. He brings the information from hundreds of scientific studies into an easy-to-understand audio program. I now feel completely committed to consistent exercising, convinced by SPARK of the overwhelming evidence of its benefits, thanks to Ratey's presentation of the facts. It has become required reading... or rather, listening... in our family!

I loved this audiobook and am currently on my second listen to it. I am a nursing student and learning about the human body and especially the brain is fascinating to me. This audiobook did not let me down. If you are into self preservation, and being the BEST you can be, you won't be let down either. Highly recommended.

This is one of those life changing audio books. It is a fascinating look at the current research on how exercise affects the brain. Ratey presents this entertaining journey through the mind-body connection proving how important exercise is to our mental health. Yes, it seems that I can beat stress, be happy, increase my memory, sharpen my intellect, and function at my peak...all by taking a little time each day to exercise. It's the best reason I know to get up off the couch!
