Pa-me-lah ,

One of the Best!!

I really enjoyed listening to this recording of Hamlet. It is completely unabridged, unlike others that claim they are and are not really. This one is and does not skip over any lines! The voice acting is excellent and the actor that plays Hamlet does such a good job at conveying emotions and also Horatio. Another feature I liked is the fact that the narrator tells you the setting of where the scene is taking place and describes it to you, something that the plays don't include. At this price, its keeper!

Very Solid Performance

I am writing this as a high school English teacher. I will start with my only complaint: a woman's voice announces each entrance and exit. It's fine, but it's a little obnoxious when the characters say, "Let's go," you hear footsteps leaving, and then the woman chimes in with "They exit." Other than that, very good performance. There are a few areas that are so-so (the ghost's "Swear it" seems goofy), but the important stuff is very well presented with inflections/emphasis on the right words/ideas. I also purchased the Gilgud (sp?) version, but it skips WAY too many lines. You won't be disappointed with this performance.

Loved it!

Wow. I’ve listened to a lot of Shakespeare on audio, and this performance was extremely well done! Each actor does a superb job with their character, and Hamlet was especially excellent. Near the beginning, his sorrow was depicted so realistically, I was nearly brought to tears.

The only critique I would have for this production is Ophelia. Why does the young love-interest have the voice of an old lady?! But, in truth, it bore little consequence as Ophelia’s part was neither huge nor beloved. And, I have to say, the actress did do an excellent job towards the end when Ophelia turns . . . oh, but I won’t ruin the plot for you. Just buy this audiobook! :D
