Customer Reviews
Great concepts, but lacklustre performance
The constant mispronunciation of “hegemon” throughout the series is painful, but the voice acting is okay otherwise. It’s not terribly bad, but it would be nice to hear a reading by actors on par with the quality of the material. To their credit, they generally read in a way that maintains the picture of the story in my mind. There do seem to be a few mistakes here and there, which makes me wonder if they were written that way or misspoken. The book itself does a great job transitioning from the original ENDER’S GAME setting and introduces new characters and concepts seamlessly. XENOCIDE and CHILDREN OF THE MIND make equally-welcome follow-up additions to finish the series. Read or listen to those titles next if you enjoy the book.
