Glad they released these.

Just really wished they released the unabridged versions.

Good, but...

I have gotten 2 versions of this. This is read by the actor that played C3-PO, Anthony Daniels. This is just like the audio tape that first came out with some ommisions. Reguardless of that, it is great. This version is more lively than the redone version recently released with a different reader. If you cannot get the tape version, than this is the next best audio.

A Must Read - not a must listen

There are a host of authors who have added to the Star Wars storyline. Timothy Zahn, and this series specifically, surpasses them all. I have read the three books in this trilogy a dozen times. Even though he relies on some of the catch phrases from the movies a little too heavily at times for my taste, Timothy Zahn successfully manages to take these iconic characters, protect all of their lovable quirks and create something fresh using a storyline that is every bit as compelling as Episodes 4-6. Buy the books. Read the books.

That said, the audiobooks are an entirely different matter. In a word: Pass. First, they're abridged. If the books had been written the way that this audiotape series flows, I doubt I would have bothered reading the second book in the series. Second, I found the audio performance lifeless.
