Start a War: Saint View Psychos, Book 1 (Unabridged‪)‬

This book has dark themes! If your triggered by trauma (abuse/rape)don’t read it. However if you not it’s a good read! I found this on a fb sponsored ad. It was a delightful surprise. I knew from what I had read on fb that it was on the darker side. It’s also very spicy 🌶️. I will be listening to the next book(s) tomorrow.

This is my first Elle Thorpe book and consider me wowed and wondering how is this my first Elle Thorpe book, I will be definitely be checking out more of her books soon. This story had me hooked right from the start, grabbing my attention and captivating it the entire time. The characters are intriguing and relatable, once you meet them you want to know more about each one of them, starting with Bliss, whom we meet when she was a child in a terrible family situation, her brother Alex and his friend Nash get her out of it and get her to go live with her father. The story picks up when Bliss is an adult who has been living the life of luxury, she is engaged to a well-to-do man and works in a daycare center. When she gets a call from her brother and the last thing she hears before guns shots is the phrase he used to let her know she is in danger. She goes to look for him in the bar he owns, which is not in the best of neighborhoods, and is happy to see her brother’s friend, Nash, who goes with her to look for her brother, only to find him dead. Holy moly, Bliss’ life goes into a tailspin after this, she finds out how much of an alphahole her fiancé really is, a cheating one too. Then she meets Vincent, a new coworker, who is smitten with her and she with him, then the two wind up getting fired. But she learns she inherited her brother’s bar, which is not just a bar, but she plans to work there and make it flourish as a business. And in come War, VP of the local MC, and there is an instant attraction with him as well. This first book is laying down the foundation and placing pieces of what is coming, the world building is phenomenal and I am loving the depth and layers of the story, sure there is a lot going on and she is weaving a mighty fine web, but it is easy to follow and it keeps you thinking and on your toes. This brilliantly plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, mystery, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn romance, reverse harem style. Elle Thorpe, thank you for this amazing story and the wild ride. I am looking forward to what comes next for these characters.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Gregory Salinas and Michelle Price are wonderfully talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that fit their character’s persona and were believable in every role they played. Gregory Salinas killed it covering the roles of the male characters, his Vincent as the perfect psychotic was well done, he also perfected War, Nash and Caleb’s roles. Michelle Price was great as Bliss too, he played the role with perfection, grasping every side of her personality. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story and captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to.
